Since many video mixing software platforms incorporate the Flash plug-in, it has become a weapon of choice in a VJ’s arsenal due to its small file size, flexible scalability, and (most importantly) the potential for interactive programmatic elements. Resolume (www.resolume.com) and ArKaos (http://www.arkaos.net/) stand out as the most versatile and easy to use of these software environments.
La-Va.org is pleased to present the Flash Video Mixing Workshop, an evening of lectures, live demonstrations, and discussions of programming techniques, platform quirks, and methods of creating interactive Flash visuals in a live setting.
Ben Guerrette (VJ ECIN), creator of Trigger Motion (http://www.triggermotion.com), a free resource for Flash visuals from motion artists and VJs across the globe, will demonstrate developing audio reactive Flash visuals for use with ArKaos GrandVJ (www.arkaos.net). Hes worked with ArKaos to integrate Flash into GrandVJ and the Numark NuVJ in addition to providing stock Flash visuals included with both releases.
Eric Medine (MkUltra,www.ericmedine.com) will be demonstrating the interactive and dynamic text capabilities of Flash, in particular his live lip-synching plugins for Resolume that he has used in venues all over the world, from Barcelona to San Diego. He will also be demonstrating MIDI-reactive Flash animation featured on EMAQdesign.com, an online resource for flash video loops, components, and photo galleries.
Following the lectures and technical demonstrations will be a raffle for a licensed version of Arkaos GrandVJ and Resolume v3, and a live Vj battle between MkUltra and ECIN.

Just wanted to know if there was any RSVP required for the event. If that’s the case, I’m definitely interested in attending.
Nope– just show up!
